With Ohta propelling everyone through the Garganta atop a psychic platform, Ichigo, recalling all the times they had to run through, was seriously tempted to give him a piece of his mind. Instead, he sat off to the side with his arms crossed, steeling himself for the coming battle alongside Unohana and her Lieutenant, a tall, well-endowed woman with grey eyes and short, nearly white hair called Kotetsu Isane. Undaunted by the fact they had an 'audience,' Yoruichi sat atop Ohta's lap with her back against his chest, feet curled and resting atop his calves as he held and caressed her abdomen. There was a chance she would die in the forthcoming battle, so she wasn't overly concerned with keeping their relationship a secret from Ichigo, Unohana, and Isane. Catching Ohta a little off guard, Yoruichi asked, "When all this is over, will you come with me to the Shihouin Clan Compound...?" "To what end...?" asked Ohta, generating a soundproof barrier to prevent their conversation from being overheard. He thoughtfully included Soifon within its canopy, but only to keep her from becoming grumpy and losing focus before the battle. Realizing what Ohta had done, Yoruichi placed her right hand over Ohta's, guiding it southward as she teased, "I want to show you off and introduce you to my younger siblings. After that, I believe it would be best if you joined the Onmitsukidō, assuming Soifon's former position as Commander of the Executive Militia..." Though he furrowed his brows slightly, Ohta didn't immediately reject Yoruichi's proposition. Instead, he began to rub her through the fabric of her hakama as he asked, "Is this the true reason you assigned Soifon to me? So you could elevate me to the position of a Corps Commander and have her serve as my Adjutant?" "Something like that," mused Yoruichi. "The main reason I want you to join the Onmitsukidō is to substitute your lack of status. Even if you become a Lesser Noble in the wake of this conflict, it won't give you a 'voice' among the upper echelons of the Seireitei. By becoming the Commander of the Executive Militia, you'll be in charge of the military force directly under the command of the presently defunct Central 46. Unless an Executive Order is handed down, the only person you'll be obliged to answer to is me. And we both know I won't 'force' you to do anything..." Earning a surprised look from both women, Ohta revealed, "Truth be told, I'm thinking of becoming the King of Hueco Mundo. I don't really feel like getting involved with the politics of the Soul Society, and I'll be able to go all out more easily if I don't have to worry about collateral damage..." "That's..." Though she was compelled to say it was 'impossible' for Ohta to become Hueco Mundo's King, Yoruichi's words trailed off before they could form a complete rebuttal. In the absence of Barragan, Hueco Mundo would need a new ruler. There was even a chance that a Fourteenth Division or a new Onmitsukidō Corps would be created to monitor and supervise it. In either case, Ohta was a prime candidate for the position since he was the one to have slain Barragan... After deliberating the matter for several seconds, Yoruichi said, "I will support you if that's what you decide, but what about Rukia and Orihime? The former has already been reinstated as a member of the Gotei and is likely to become a Captain in the near future. As for the latter, she intends to finish High School and acquire a Culinary Arts Degree before relocating to the Soul Society long-term. There's no way either of them could spend long periods in Hueco Mundo..." ("Not unless Rukia became the Captain of a newly appointed Division...") thought Yoruichi. However, as she would prefer having Ohta close by, she didn't mention that possibility. Instead, she appended, "Also...if you 'do' become the new ruler of Hueco Mundo, it will make those responsible for maintaining the current order anxious. It's not particularly well-known, but one of the reasons for the Gotei's establishment was to 'restrain' Captain-Commander Yamamoto and a few outliers. If you don't relinquish your power or subject yourself to some form of oversight, the peaceful life you desire will be impossible to attain..." Snorting through his nose, Ohta retorted, "You say that as if the creepy candy store uncle didn't place a seal or bomb within my Gigai. I'm not an idiot, Yoruichi..." "..." As placing a bomb within a potential threat was 'definitely' something Kisuke would do, Yoruichi didn't refute Ohta's words. Even if she did, he wouldn't believe her, so after a lengthy period of silence, she said, "Those in power fear what they can't control. I don't want to see you suppressed or sealed away, so please don't do anything rash..." "Relax..." said Ohta, kissing Yoruichi's crown before whispering, "I have too many things I want to protect. Unless some cunt takes those things away, I won't do anything too crazy..." Leaning to the right so she could turn and look up at Ohta, Yoruichi narrowed her golden eyes and asked, "Am I included among the things you want to protect~?" Shrugging his shoulders, Ohta replied, "We might not be 'together' in the truest sense, but you'll forever be my first woman. That, and my pet cat..." Rolling her eyes, Yoruichi wiggled her butt to stimulate Ohta's bulge as she stated, "We're heading into what might be our final battle. What's the point of pretending to be monogamous at this point? Rukia is okay with it, and I know for a fact that Orihime would be much happier if you accepted her as a Consort. You should just accept that, as the prospective Head of a newly established Clan, you will need to take multiple wives. If not, then a single wife and multiple Consorts..." "And where do you fit in that?" asked Ohta, his expression and tone as flat as Rukia's chest. Causing Soifon's eyes to become as round as saucers, Yoruichi replied, "I don't mind waiting a century or two, but I'll eventually want a baby. Then our Clans will be perpetually allied..." Though his expression didn't change, Ohta's cock twitched at the image of a pregnant Yoruichi appearing in his mind. It was difficult to describe, but he felt an overwhelming sense of 'conquest' imagining her carrying his kid. Even more so, knowing their son or daughter would likely become the Head of one of the most ancient and powerful Clans, essentially granting him an 'eternal' legacy... "At least your body is honest..." mused Yoruichi, narrowing her eyes and adopting a seductive, cat-like smile. She knew Ohta wanted to dominate her, and because of their shared connection, he knew she 'wanted' to be conquered. If not for his human morals and sense of commitment toward Rukia, she suspected their passion and desire would mix as well as oil and flame... Adopting a smile of his own, revealing his distinctly sharp teeth, Ohta replied, "My body might be honest, but 'I' am extremely obstinate. Lucky for you, I've already shifted that particular responsibility to Rukia. I'm all for becoming the Head of a Clan, but its organization will depend on her. I'm too lazy to manage things directly." Raising her brows, Yoruichi attempted to ask, "So, if I'm able to persuade her-" before Ohta shook his head, stating, "Don't." in a firm tone, adding, "If I find out you or our little kitten here planted the idea in her mind, even indirectly, I'll oppose it to my dying breath..." Shrugging her shoulders, Yoruichi cheekily contended, "If that's the case, there's nothing to be worried about. As a daughter of the Kuchiki, even if she wasn't born as one, Rukia is well acquainted with Noble society. She understands the 'importance' of forming alliances and granting powerful people Noble status..." Furrowing his brows, Ohta speculated, "It's to expand the gene pool and prevent the native-born population of Soul Society from diminishing due to sickness and congenital dysfunction..." Blinking in surprise, Yoruichi replied, "It's a little more complicated than that, but you're not wrong. Your innate mental capacity is exceptionally rare, even in the long history of the Soul Society. If your children possess even a fraction of your potential, both you and your children will be highly sought after by the Great Noble Clans..." "I suddenly don't want 'any' kids..." muttered Ohta. Unfortunately, Rukia had confided in him that she wanted a large family. She could have been alluding to the fact he would have multiple wives, mistresses, or Consorts, but it didn't change the fact he would have more than one kid. They might be spaced out over several decades, potentially centuries, but with a life spanning millennia, he could live to see his genes spread to every corner of the Seireitei... "Having one with me will prevent the other Great Clans from pressuring you too much," assured Yoruichi. "I can't say the same for your children with Rukia, Orihime, and anyone else you happen to knock up, but that's, as you say, a matter for the far future. Just know that if you choose not to arrange their marriages, I'll support your decision. So long as you give me a 'proper reason,' that is..." "It's no wonder the Great Clans have stayed in power for such a ridiculous length of time..." remarked Ohta, slipping his left hand into the gap on the left side of Yoruichi's hakama as he expressed, "You're unrepentantly sly and shameless. Just how long have you been planning this...?" "You're overestimating me..." replied Yoruichi, her cheeks gaining a faint red hue as she asserted, "I didn't orchestrate any of this. I'm just familiar with how our system works, so I have a good idea of how things will play out if you follow the rules and leave all the major decisions to Rukia..." Placing her hand over Ohta's, Yoruichi narrowed her eyes and added, "You have no real ambition or purpose. You are just living until you die, allowing others to give your life 'meaning.' That's why, even when you're stressed or forced out of your comfort zone, you continue pressing forward as if it's someone else's problem..." Forcing Ohta's fingers deep inside her steamy cavern, Yoruichi's voice became a husky purr as she whispered, "I don't know why you are the way you are, but so long as you remain this way...I will never let you be without purpose. Even if you yield your heart, mind, and body to Rukia, I will never relinquish my place within your soul..." "..." Feeling a little too stimulated, Yoruichi surprised Ohta by reverting to her cat form and curling up in his lap. If he kept fingering her, she wouldn't be able to restrain herself. She might have if Ichigo wasn't present, but since he was an important part of their contingencies against Aizen, she didn't want to overload his brain by pushing Ohta down and fucking right in front of him. The Garganta technically afforded them infinite time to do as they pleased, but if they got 'lost,' they might never find their way out... Staring down at the ebony black cat, Ohta narrowed his glowing crimson eyes before bringing his visibly glistening fingers to Yoruichi's nose. Her face initially scrunched up, but shortly thereafter, she began licking them clean of her love juices. Soifon looked like she would readily carry out the task, but as he was marginally more 'principled' than Yoruichi, Ohta didn't think it would be a good idea to have her heatedly lick his fingers in front of Ichigo, Unohana, and Isane... ("Ah, fuck it...") though Ohta, holding up his fingers and allowing Soifon to clean them. Ichigo's and Isane's eyes widened at the scene, but as there was a reasonable chance they would all die in the coming fight, Ohta saw no reason to maintain a pretense of decency. Upon emerging from the Garganta back in the Human World, Ohta's pupils shrank, his heart beating faster within his chest as he saw a large section of Karakura's sky veiled in intense flames, loud explosions echoing around him.
Snapping her fingers in front of Ohta's face, Yoruichi remarked, "Now isn't the time to space out, dog boy. Find a good vantage point to monitor the situation and help exfiltrate the injured."
Regaining his senses, Ohta surprised Yoruichi by drawing her toward him, sealing her lips for several seconds before releasing her to say, "Don't die, cat..."
Punctuating his statement, Ohta gave Yoruichi a light smack on her ass, prompting her to roll her eyes before looking to Soifon and saying, "Let's move out kitten."
"Yes, Captain!" replied Soifon, saluting Yoruichi and briefly shifting her dark-brown eyes to Ohta before disappearing alongside the former with Shunpo. In their wake, Ohta turned to Ichigo, Unohana, and Isane, the younger of the two staring at the devastation around them in shock while the much older Shinigami Captain wore a calm, unperturbed smile.
Directing his gaze to Ichigo, Ohta took charge of the situation by stating, "Assess the situation and look for opportunities to help those who need it. Just be careful not to overextend and leave yourself exposed."
Turning his attention to Unohana and Isane, Ohta asked, "I'm assuming you have a protocol for triage and treating the wounded?"
Nodding her head, Unohana replied, "We typically cordon off an area and evacuate the wounded for treatment. However, as these are extenuating circumstances, we shall take to the battlefield directly. You and Kurosaki-kun should prioritize observing Aizen and conserving your strength until the battle's climax. Until then, this is 'our' fight."
"This is a battle to determine the world's fate, not to protect the honor of the Gotei," countered Ohta. "If I believe it will make a difference, I'll do as I please."
Finished with what he had to say, Ohta turned his attention to a portion of the sky illuminated by familiar, bright blue Ceros, saying, "See you around, Captain Violence(Retsu)..." before disappearing with Shunpo.
Narrowing her distinctive blue eyes, Unohana mused, "What an amusing young man," before turning to Isane, saying, "Come along, Isane. All that separates life and death is but a single moment. Let's not keep our allies waiting."
Recovering from the stupor she had fallen into when Ohta referred to Unohana as 'Captain Violence,' Isane replied with a flustered, "Y-Yes, Captain...!"
Nodding her head, Unohana cast a fleeting glance at Ichigo, saying, "Good luck, Kurosaki-kun," before disappearing alongside Isane. Their departure caused Ichigo to feel as though the pressure of the situation had increased, but he managed to pull himself together quickly, breaking through the sound barrier as he flew toward the enormous wall of flames and Captain-Commander Yamamoto...

Finding Starrk in the middle of fending off Kyoraku and Ukitake, a frown marred Ohta's face. Starrk didn't appear to have any trouble fending off the dual-wielding Captains, but he was already in his Resurreccion while the latter duo had yet to activate their Bankai.
While he didn't have the best impression of Starrk, Ohta wasn't incapable of seeing past personal grudges. Starrk also needed to be alive for him to teach the lethargic gunslinger a lesson, so he only hesitated for a moment before flaring his Reiatsu, earning the attention of all three combatants.
Seeing Ohta wearing Barragan's Royal Mantle, the slightly annoyed look on Starrk's face morphed into a troubled frown as he said, "It's you..." in a begrudging, weary tone.
Contrasting the frown on Starrk's face, Ukitake adopted a pleasant smile and said, "It's good to see that you have arrived safely, Ohta-dono. I trust Rukia and the others are well...?"
Nodding in affirmation, Ohta replied, "Yeah. The operation was fairly easy, thanks to Aizen ordering his Espada to sit tight and wait for us to attack at our leisure. We managed to eliminate most of them, including the former God-King of Hueco Mundo, so I'd appreciate it if the two of you didn't kill this one."
While Ukitake and Starrk seemed surprised by Ohta's words, Kyoraku's expression didn't change as he asked, "You're worried about the balance between the three realms?"
Shrugging his shoulders, Ohta half-heartedly replied, "Someone has to be..." before meeting Starrk's gaze and adding, "Aizen didn't intervene when Barragan was slain nor when I confronted Harribel. Now, you are being tag-teamed by two Captains while he stands idly by. Do you think he gives two shits about you, the Espada, or keeping his promises? Are you prepared to die for him, forcing Harribel to rule over Las Noches and protect the remaining Arrancar alone...?"
"..."
Instead of responding to Ohta's words, Starrk looked around, casting his single eye over the battlefield. Except for Ulquiorra Cifer, the Cuaotro(4th) Espada, he was the only survivor among the Arrancar that had accompanied Aizen to the Human World. They had backup coming, but that wouldn't change the fact that they were severely outnumbered. The only person who could turn things around was Aizen, but he and Gin were pretending to be trapped in the flaming barrier produced by Yamamoto...
Returning his gaze to Ohta, focusing on the cloak he was wearing, Starrk stared at him for several seconds before exhaling a tired sigh and asking, "If I leave now, will you swear never to invade Las Noches again...?"
"That depends entirely on you," replied Ohta. "If your people hadn't come seeking trouble, I wouldn't have even known you existed. So long as you keep the Adjuchas in check and prevent strays from invading the Human World en masse, I don't give a damn what you do."
"Right..." muttered Starrk, shifting his gaze to Kyoraku and Ukitake to hear what they had to say.
"Yare yare(Good grief)..." sighed Kyoraku. Fortunately for Starrk and his partner, Lilynette, Kyoraku was confident he could kill the dual-wielding Esapda whenever he pleased. Thus, after a moment of consideration, he sheathed his scimitar-like blades and said, "Out of respect for Ohta-dono and the Shihouin Clan, I'll permit you to withdraw. However, should this battle end in our favor, you should expect an Ambassador from the Soul Society in the very near future..."
Helping Starrk make up his mind, Ohta added, "The alternative is fighting all three of us."
Shaking his head, Starrk holstered his pistols and raised his hands in surrender, stating, "I'd rather not..." with a wry smile. Fortunately, as she couldn't speak while holstered, Lilynette couldn't say anything to worsen their predicament.
"Then, before you go, I'm going to siphon some of your Reiryoku," said Ohta, adding, "We can't have you coming back to attack us the moment Aizen gets the upper hand."
Furrowing his brows, Starrk asked, "How do I know you won't just kill me the moment I'm drained?"
"Because, even without these two, I could kill you 'without' draining your power," contended Ohta. "With them providing backup and your so-called Lord fantasizing about getting his ass reamed by the Zero Division, you're fucked six ways from Sunday."
When Ohta casually referred to the Zero Division, Kyoraku's and Ukitake's eyes widened slightly. Information pertaining to the Zero Division, also known as the Royal Guard, was strictly confidential. Only Captains were supposed to have any knowledge of their existence, so while they could easily imagine where Ohta got the information from, they were still a little taken aback by how 'informed' he was.

Interrupting the conversation, the peculiar resonance of a spatial tremor emanated across the battlefield as a gigantic Garganta began to open in the sky. From its interior, an incredible Reiatsu leaked out, garnering the attention of virtually everyone on the battlefield as a skinny Arrancar with blonde hair and a large purple sword appeared alongside a strange white sphere and a colossal Hollow with a bulbous body, tufts of soot-black hair on its back, and a singular eye.
"Wonderweiss..." muttered Starrk, prompting Ohta to declare, "That's your way home. Now, get the fuck out of my sight before I change my mind..."
Though he furrowed his brows, Starrk only hesitated briefly before using Sonido to slip past Wonderweiss, the white sphere, and the giant Hollow. His departure earned a confused "Bawaaaaaaa...?" from the ditzy-looking Arrancar, but he quickly regained focus when a crimson beam of crescent energy nearly bifurcated him from crown to crotch.
Earning a frown from Ohta, the mysterious white sphere 'teleported' in front of Wonderweiss, releasing a loud, resonating hum as it intercepted, seemingly froze, and ultimately destroyed the energy crescent. Then, as the front of the sphere opened like a flower, a familiar, black, purple-hued energy began to gather at its center...
Feeling a powerful, attractive force, Ohta muttered, "This bitch stole my move..." as the flower-like sphere unleashed a gravity-infused Cero that produced an exceptionally loud hum as it tore through the foundation of the fake Karakura Town, drilling into the Earth and causing debris as large as cars to be drawn toward it.
While Ohta, Kyoraku, and Ukitake were forced to evade, Wonderweiss pointed toward the flaming barrier surrounding Aizen and Gin, issuing a loud "Fuwaaaa~!" that prompted the colossal Hollow behind him to swell as it inhaled deeply. Then, causing the entire battlefield to reek of death, it exhaled its breath, dissipating the ultimately pointless barrier in one fell swoop.
Though the flower-like sphere had drawn his aggro, Ohta spared a glance toward Aizen and Gin, confusion marring his face as he asked, "Who the fuck is that?" in regards to the former's somewhat drastic glow up. In his mind, Aizen was still a cartoonified Josh Groban imitator, not some suave, Chad-looking motherfucker with swept-back hair, sharp eyebrows, and a strong jawline...
Hearing Ohta's question, Ukitake replied, "That's former Captain Aizen..." with a serious expression and tone.
As if he could hear the two of them talking, Aizen directed his gaze to Ohta and Ukitake, adopting a sly smile as he mused, "I believe you have other concerns at the moment."
Punctuating Aizen's statement, the flower-like sphere unleashed another destructive beam of black, purple-hued energy. This time, however, Ohta didn't try to dodge. Instead, he met the attack with the bident-like tuning fork on the ass end of his Bankai. He was pushed down by the 'weight' of the beam but ultimately succeeded in absorbing it before charging toward Wonderweiss and the sphere with crimson eyes and bared teeth.
Sending a shiver up Ohta's spine, Gin's voice echoed in his ear despite the distance separating them, hissing, "Bankai...Kamishini-no-Yari(God-Killing Spear)..."
By the time Ohta's brain had finished processing Gin's words, his view of Wonderweiss and the flower-like sphere had vanished. Instead, he found himself in the clouds, pain radiating through his side as the beam of 'light' that had impacted him abruptly vanished.
Though he was barely conscious, feeling as though all the blood in his body had rushed to his left side, Ohta managed to use Shunpo reflexively, concealing himself in a nearby cloud before crumpling over and coughing up blood. His manifold barriers had protected him from whatever hit him, but the speed at which he was forcibly moved placed a burden nearing a million g-forces on his body. If not for his absurd durability and the cloak protecting him, he might have burst apart and vaporized...
"That...mother...fucker..." panted Ohta, reaching up to his left eye to find it was still present by protruding from the socket. He couldn't see out of it, but he was relieved to know it was still there, allowing him to push it into place as he healed himself using Kaido.
Feeling progressively more 'focused' as his pain grew, Ohta thought, ("So that's the 'God-killing Spear' Yoruichi warned me about...I shouldn't have dropped my guard...")
Fortunately, while Gin's Bankai had caught him off guard, Ohta now had a decent understanding of its power and range. He could smell ozone, and the temperature was a lot warmer than one would expect when you were high enough to see the Earth's curvature. That meant he was somewhere in the Stratosphere, but since there were still clouds present, his altitude should only be around 12-15km. It was a startling distance to have been sent in an instant, but now that he had experienced the attack once, Ohta was confident he could counter it...
Instead of healing himself fully, Ohta allowed his pain to fuel his psychic power, empower his Reiatsu, and reinforce his body as he growled, "Time to show you that jackals eat snakes, you venomous bitch..."

(A/N: For those that are unaware, Gin's Bankai is at least Mach 500. It can extend and retract 13km/8.1 miles in 0.08 seconds. That's 171,500 meters per second. An object on the end of it would experience more than twelve million g-forces if they were at rest beforehand. When he swings it, the tip can reach the speed of light (O o O). As my old friend Phil Swift might say, "That's a lot of damage...!"')

Finished with what he had to say, Aizen mused, "And with that, ladies and gentlemen, I bid you farewell. If you survive the coming days, let's build a better word. Beneath my rule, of course..."
Punctuating his statement, the stabilized Gargantas utilized by the Attack Squad to invade Las Noches promptly shut. At the same time, far beyond the walls of the massive structure, enormous black pylons whirred to life, resonating with the surrounding space to prevent further Gargantas from being opened.
Sensing what had occurred, a deep frown marred Harribel's face as she revealed, "Lord Aizen must have predicted you would take one or more of us hostage. I can't open a Garganta..."
Tapping the space next to her several times in vain, Karin, wearing a pouty expression, appended, "I can't open one either..."
"It's fine," assured Ohta, interjecting before Ichigo could blow a gasket. Then, as all gazes shifted to him, he calmly added, "Aizen isn't the only one capable of scheming..."
Though he could have explained further, Ohta didn't like revealing his hand when it didn't benefit him. Instead, he looked to Harribel, stating, "I'm going to leave you in charge of Las Noches. You and your Fraccion will stay here and protect my ward."
Interrupting Karin before she could protest, Ohta plopped his hand down atop her head, his expression serious as he pointed out, "You didn't seek power to engage in warfare. If shit hits the fan, you must do everything you can to protect your sister. Understood?"
"But I want to fight..." protested Karin.
Shrugging his shoulders, Ohta replied, "Sometimes, staying out of a fight is the best way to win a war. Even if Aizen succeeds in becoming the Soul King, he's mistaken if he believes he can rule uncontested. Live on, grow strong, and if you can't find happiness in the reality thrust upon you, fight tooth and nail to create a better world..."
Before Karin could respond, Ohta robbed her of her consciousness, her body going limp before floating like she was being carried.
Directing the slumbering Arrancar to Harribel, the inverted triangles in Ohta's eyes exuded an intimidating glow as he said, "Keep her safe." in a firm, authoritative tone.
Feeling a sensation akin to existential dread, Harribel resisted the urge to swallow as she responded, "Understood..." Then, alongside her Fraccion, she departed Las Noches, understanding that Ohta 'putting her in charge' was predicated on the fact he managed to defeat Aizen. Until then, she would bide her time and keep Karin somewhere safe...
Following the departure of Harribel's group, Ichigo approached Ohta with a serious expression of his own, expressing, "Thanks for keeping her out of this..."
Snorting through his nose, Ohta retorted, "You can thank me by being a better big brother once this is all over. It shouldn't have to fall to me and others to teach your sister how to stand on her own two feet..."
Though he furrowed his brows further than usual, Ichigo responded with a simple "Right..." before slapping Ohta on the shoulder and walking past him. He and the latter rarely saw eye to eye, but after learning the 'truth' of his origins, Ichigo understood he couldn't keep pretending everything was normal. Once this matter with Aizen was settled, he was determined to learn everything he could about his past and the responsibilities thrust upon him by his lineage to shape a better future. He wasn't sure how he would go about it, but he suspected Ohta could help point him in the right direction...

Using his connection with Yoruichi, it didn't take long for Ohta and Ichigo to find her, Soifon, Byakuya, Zaraki, and, somewhat surprisingly, Captain Mayuri of Squand 12 and Unohana of Squad 4, each accompanied by their respective Lieutenants.
Though Yoruichi raised her hand and smiled, the first to greet Ohta and Ichigo was the pink-haired loli that always followed Zaraki around, often riding his shoulders.
Waving her hand excitedly, the diminutive Lieutenant, Kusajishi Yachiru, exclaimed, "Look, Kenny! It's O-kun and Ichi-ichi~!"
"I can see that," replied Zaraki, his voice lazy as he focused his singular eye on Ohta as he asked, "Tell me, kid...did you eliminate all the strong opponents? That's what my instincts are telling me."
Adopting a fearless smile, Ohta retorted, "What are you talking about? All I eliminated were weaklings. The real threat just fled to the Human World. Maybe you scared him off?"
Exhaling an amused chuckle, Zaraki mused, "Maybe..." before shifting his gaze to Yoruichi, adding, "Woman. Hurry up and force open the Garganta so we can return."
Raising her right brow, Yoruichi remarked, "Address me like that again, and I'll leave you behind to guard the rear."
"Huuuuh...?"
Exuding a golden Reiatsu from his body, Zaraki looked like he was about to try and intimidate Yoruichi when Unohana promptly stepped between them, wearing the kind of smile a mother might don while telling her kids they wouldn't be punished if they came forward and told her the truth.
Opening her eyes just a crack, Unohana stated, "We didn't come here to fight amongst ourselves. If you have any grievances, please settle them 'after' we've dealt with Aizen."
To the surprise of Ohta and Ichigo, Zaraki promptly restrained his golden Reiatsu, clicked his tongue, and averted his eyes while Yachiru snickered gleefully atop his left shoulder.
("I knew there was something strange about that bitch...") thought Ohta, recalling the nervous tension he occasionally felt during his stay at the Squad 4 Barracks. The only time he and Unohana interacted was when she advised him to be considerate of the other patients, but there were times when he would wake up in the middle of the night feeling as though a venomous snake was crawling up his chest...
Causing the pointed ears atop Ohta's head to flatten, Unohana directed her smile toward him, calmly asserting, "It's not polite to think ill of your comrades..."
("You need to kill this one before she kills you...") warned Anpu. However, while there wasn't much of a difference in his tone, Ohta could sense the jackal-like Spirit wasn't as confident as usual.
"Enough dawdling," said Byakuya, his gaze focused on Ohta as he added, "Quickly explain the situation. How many Espadas remain, and where are Lieutenants Rukia and Renji?"
Extending his right hand, Ohta released Rukia, Orihime, Chad, Uryu, and Renji from the cloak. As he did so, Rukia bowed respectfully, saying, "I am here, brother." in a courteous tone.
"Lieutenant Abarai, reporting," followed Renji, cupping his hands together and bowing toward his Captain.
Nodding slightly, Byakuya casually remarked, "The two of you did well," before redirecting his gaze to Ohta, clearly expecting a report.
Though he wasn't obliged to provide a report, Ohta revealed, "I defeated the former God-King of Hueco Mundo, Barragan Louisenbairn. After that, I coerced the Trest Espada into defecting and crushed the Octava Espada to prevent him from becoming a menace after Aizen's defeat..."
Plopping his hand down atop Rukia's head, Ohta mused, "You'll be happy to learn that Rukia managed to defeat the Rank 5, Quinto Espada, mostly on her own. She still has ways to go, but she didn't even need to use her Bankai to get the job done."
Feeling embarrassed, a red hue colored Rukia's cheeks as she muttered, "Ohta..." with a warning expression and tone. It didn't help that Byakuya seemed genuinely surprised, his brows rising a whopping 300mm as he said, "Excellent. Once we return to the Soul Society, I will nominate you for one of the vacant Captain positions."
Staring at her older brother in disbelief, Rukia was going to protest but was preempted by Yoruichi stating, "We really don't have time for this right now."
Garnering significant attention from Mayuri and Uryu, Yoruichi raised her Captain's haori to reveal rows of bottles containing concentrated Reiryoku and a distinctive golden sword comprised of a double-edged blade and a circular hilt with spikes protruding from the sides. Its handle was bound in purple bindings, and the hexagonal, shield-like crest of the Shihouin Clan was carved into its surface. A purple tassel dangled from a gap in the hilt, but its most notable feature was the effect it had on its surroundings. The moment Yoruichi pulled it out, the faint hum denoting that space had been sealed off promptly vanished.
Seeing everyone's gazes on her, Yoruichi adopted a narrow-eyed smile, waving the peculiar golden sword playfully as she teased, "Curious? Too bad. This is one of the Shihouin Clan's heirlooms, and I'm not at liberty to divulge its properties. All you need to know is that it can do this..."
Half-turning her body, Yoruichi sliced the air behind her, producing a large gash resembling a Garganta. Her Reiryoku noticeably tanked as she did so, but it was promptly replenished as the Reishi in the surrounding sands was rapidly drawn into her.
"That's a Quincy technique..." accused Uryu, staring at Yoruichi as if she had just taken a piss on his Grandfather's grave.
Rolling her eyes, Yoruichi remarked, "Get over yourself, kid. The Great Noble Clans developed the concept of drawing and utilizing Reishi from their surroundings hundreds of thousands of years ago. The Quincy have only been around for a few thousand. Your bloodline is certainly special, but you're deluding yourself if you think such abilities are 'unique' to your kind..."
Though she was tempted to lecture Uryu further, Yoruichi didn't want the person listening 'through' him to hear what she had to say. Besides, there were far more pressing matters to deal with.
Directing her golden-eyed gaze to Ohta and Ichigo, Yoruichi's expression became deadly serious as she said, "Once we pass through the Garganta, the two of you need to avoid engaging Aizen immediately. No matter how much you want to interfere, even if everyone here is cut down, you should only take action 'after' Captain-Commander Yamamoto. That goes doubly for you, Ichigo..."
Furrowing his brows, Ohta replied, "Fuck that. If you expect me to stand by and watch that asshat do as he pleases, you're even more braindead than a certain Strawberry..."
Understanding that Ohta was referring to him, Ichigo's frown deepened as he said, "That's uncalled for..."
Piggybacking off of Ichigo's words, Yoruichi stated, "He's right. Besides, everything you want to 'protect' will be here, safe and sound. That should make it easier for you to cut loose if shit, as you say, hits the fan."
Realizing what Yoruichi was stating, Rukia was next to gain a frown as she asked, "What do you mean by that, Yoruichi-sama?"
Responding in Yoruichi's stead, Byakuya explained, "You, Inoue Orihime, and the former Ryouka will return to the Soul Society with Captain Zaraki, Mayuri, and myself. There is no place for you in the coming battle, so you will help protect Karakura Town as its final line of defense."
"Laaaaaaaaaaame..." groaned Zaraki, earning himself a narrow-eyed smile from Unohana.
"That's how it is," said Yoruichi, adopting a distinctly catty smile as she added, "In other words, if the Gotei 13 and Commander Yamamoto fail to defeat Aizen, you'll be able to go all-out at your leisure. Everyone fighting is more than prepared to die, so if it comes to that, be sure to avenge me properly, okay~?"
Furrowing his brows, Ohta wanted to protest but knew war wasn't a place for sentimentality or reason. Aizen was a monster that could potentially take on the entirety of the Gotei. Waiting for him to exhaust his Reiryoku and be weakened was the wisest course of action, giving them the best chance of success. More importantly, it would allow him to observe the capabilities of Yamamoto and Shunsei, giving him some idea of what to expect should the Soul Society turn on him...
Surprising Ichigo, Rukia, and Orihime, Ohta ultimately responded with a curt, "Understood...". Then, before the latter two could make a scene, he momentarily robbed them of their consciousness, entrusting them to the care of Byakuya before eventually entering the faux Garganta created by Yoruichi with a fiercely resolute look on his face...
