I kept repeating these two words like a mantra while dragging a giant mental cube through a desert. It was attached to me by several chains whose clanking accompanied the sound of the sand moved by the cube.
My mind was empty. The only thing I could think about was reaching the two giant towers in the distance that denoted the finish line.
I could no longer tell how much time passed since I started dragging this cube. Every muscle in my body screamed to stop and take a break. I felt my sweat evaporate the moment it formed, while the sun above and sand below made my skin and feet sizzle, causing me a great deal of pain. Worse than that was the pain I felt in my lungs exposed to the dry and hot air of the desert. It made breathing hard and left a bloody aftertaste in my mouth, showing me how bad a condition they were.
Despite all that, I kept moving forward.
In the past, I wouldn't be able to walk around here, not to mention dragging a cube with each side measuring 10 meters and weighing around 500 tons.

But now, it's different. It's been five years since the day Matrucksa sent me to this world. I kept working hard, not wanting to waste my second chance at life. I still remember how it feels to be average. My whole life, I was such a person. Now I can, and I will be more than that! I have to!

I kept walking with even more resolve than before, and as I did, I felt something deep inside me stirring awake. It started small, like a drop of water before the rain, but then it became more powerful. It kept growing, turning from a single drop of water into a rainstorm.
My body still screamed in pain, but it became a lot easier to ignore its wails. I also noticed that my body moved far faster than before, while the cube behind me seemed lighter.
"Aaaaaaaaaaahhh!!!" releasing a primal scream, I no longer counted my steps. I went ahead as fast as possible without thinking about anything other than reaching the two towers and being done with it.
As if all my previous struggle was a joke, It didn't even register with me that I passed the two towers before going for 20 more meters and planting face first into the scorching sand.
Just as I was about to groan from the pain and sand getting into my mouth, nose, and eyes, it all disappeared like a bad dream, the familiar white floor of the Training Room underneath me.
After getting my powerless body rolled on my back, I was greeted by Selen's formerly expressionless face, now presenting a slight smile and the softness possible to describe only as heavenly, coming from beneath my head.
"You worked hard. Now rest," Selen said, leaving no room to argue.
She no longer looked like a child looking more like a teen instead. She was now roughly 155 cm tall and still had room to grow. Her figure despite being quite lithe, as could be expected from a person with feline features, didn't lack the womanly charm, being curvy in all the right places. She still sported the same set of clothes and hairstyle, but due to the change in age, she looked more charming than cute. I came to see her as my sister, but my resolve keeps being tested every day...
I was more than a little surprised when I found out that her appearance inside The Orb wasn't set in stone. Contrary, she would keep growing like a regular human until she reached what could be considered her prime.
As for why I was surprised, there are two reasons. One is that, At first, I thought she was more like an NPC rather than a person, but the more time I spent around her, the more assured I got that wasn't the case.
Despite hiding them well, she showed some of her emotions from time to time. It was also apparent that while she enjoyed staying on her own, she needed my presence from time to time.
My second reason is that the way I look inside The Orb won't change and is what my body outside will look like once I mature. Once It does, it won't age a day more unless I want it. Selen told me this during one of our breakfasts after she was tired of me whining about it. It was supposed to be one of the surprises prepared by Matrucksa, but I guess she couldn't stand it anymore. Perhaps her mental health was set as a higher priority.
Curious about the sudden surge of power I felt moments ago, I decided to check out my Status Window.
"Status," I muttered, causing Selen's right ear to twitch in annoyance, but she said nothing.

"Eh...!?" I muttered, 'nearly' sitting up due to the surprise. Yes, 'nearly', because my body still couldn't do even that. The reason was that, at the very bottom of my Status Window, right under The Orb, something new appeared.
With something as ridiculous as The Orb being in that category, even with its level and grade denoting it was the top, I never imagined something being added there.
Are innates by any chance the key to increase my existential level?!
Such thought appeared in my head after realizing that my Potential, until now stuck at Lvl: 1, Grade: EX, increased by a whole Level, while my Existential Level increased to Lvl: 2, Grade: F.
The first parameter denotes a 'modifier' to my learning speed, as instead of being the limit for all my parameters and skills like I thought at the beginning, it simply shows my learning speed.
The second one shows my current Level among other beings.

It has a similar effect to the [Limit Breaker] skill I have seen in some games and novels. There is also [Telekinesis] and a [Conqueror's Haki]-like component. I have to test how exactly it works, for example, what's the range of this ability, but It will be awesome no matter the outcome.

Soon after starting my study sessions in Library, I became aware of yet another terrific aspect of possessing The Orb. From the moment it became one with me, I acquired the ability to remember everything perfectly. I could recall at will and without any problem everything I witnessed.
My 'status' displays it and my body's unique constitution, as [Perfect Memory] and [Negative Status Effect Immunity], respectively.
If that wasn't enough, I never got tired mentally, and my mind stayed clear inside the Library. As a result, my head instead of turning into a messy storehouse became a neatly arranged library.
Despite its name, [Perfect Memory], there were certain exceptions. I remember the stories and activities I enjoyed. I possess all the 'knowledge' from the day I died, but I can't recall things like my name or family.
It's like having two memory discs, one that can store any data without limit and one whose files got partially corrupted. Before I can put the files from the corrupted memory disc into the good one, I need to recover them.
Honestly, that may be a good thing. I was curious about who I was, but without the memories, I also lost the emotional attachment to my past. I could focus on living here and now. I could keep improving and enjoy the life I envied for so long, leading me to this very moment.
"Once I can move again, we are going to throw a party," I said with a happy smile, receiving a nod from Selen as a reply.

"*Sigh* Finally home..." I muttered to myself.
"Mom! Dad! We are home!" exclaimed a boy while entering right after me.
His name was Rito, my younger brother, born ten months after the Yuki couple found and adopted me. His hair is a spiky mix of orange and brown, while his eyes are golden-brownish colored. Also, due to my caucasian appearance, he is quite a bit shorter than me, like most of the children I met.
Personality-wise, he is an exceptionally energetic and cheerful kid. Unfortunately for him, due to how close our age is, he developed a habit of comparing himself to me. He often gets jealous and complains when I do things better than him, but maybe due to being the main character, he also works hard to catch up, even at such a young age.
Just now, the two of us returned from kindergarten. To my dismay, our parents decided to send us to one renowned for educating children even before school. Since I have the mind of an adult, I can quickly finish the exercises they give us and get back to sleep, i.e. go inside The Orb, but I still find it bothersome. As for Rito, he is struggling quite a bit, but our 'rivalry' keeps him going.
"I guess they are busy," I said while turning towards Rito.
Actually, it's very likely that our mother isn't even home due to her job. As a fashion designer, she lacks the necessary tools to work from home, and since the release date of summer collections is fast approaching, she spends most of her time at her office. Our father, on the other hand, despite working from home, barely even has the time to sleep. He is a prime example of how hard it is to be a mangaka.
I immediately went towards his drawing studio and took a look inside. As I thought, he and his assistant were focused on their work and didn't even notice me.
Next, I checked the room adjacent to it. It was dimly lit and, based on the furniture alone, obviously belonged to a baby. It was the room of my one-year-old sister, Mikan.
After confirming she was sound asleep, I directed my steps toward the kitchen to prepare the dinner.
In any 'normal' family, it would be unthinkable for a child my age to cook. Fortunately or maybe not, my parents are far from ordinary. My mother, in particular, is a very free-spirited person and gets easily distracted.
At first, she was the one that took us to the city park to play, but after she left us there without saying anything after getting inspiration, our father took over. And that wasn't after she did it once. No, she did it FIVE times in a single week! It would be SEVEN if we didn't stay home for two days!
If not for how affectionate she is, I would have thought she was actively trying to abandon us...
On the other hand, our father is very dependable. At least, as long as he doesn't get completely immersed in his work. He always ensures that we have everything necessary and helps us when we don't understand something, but when he is close to the deadline, I get in charge of my siblings.
Since it would be impossible to hide how much my intelligence differed from ordinary kids, I decided not to, at least at home.
For the first year, I slept most of the time, excluding feeding time and occasional walks. Since The Orb influenced their minds to a certain degree and I was their first child, they didn't realize how unusually silent I was and that my diapers were always clean, one of my body's many peculiarities.
Then Rito was born and consumed most of their attention while giving me a better understanding of how a baby acts.
Once I was two years old, I decided it was time to start talking. If I said my parents were surprised, it would be an understatement. There was a good reason for that. I had no problems with pronunciation and spoke in full sentences. The same day I also started walking. I could have done that earlier since my body was stronger than it should be, but I decided otherwise. From that point onwards, the results of everything I did were better than they should. While my mother always seemed happy about it, exclaiming "Amazing!" and such, my father just stopped getting surprised after a while.
'Let's make some curry and rice,' I thought while moving a chair toward the kitchen worktop since I couldn't reach it yet.
When I became four years old and asked If I can cook, and help around the house, they disagreed, even with my mother's free-spirited nature, but after a while, I made them change their minds.
How? I did it without their permission and received scolding, but after doing that for a month without any incidents, they gave up.
That, however, combined with my apparent mental maturity, resulted in me becoming my sibling's full-time babysitter.
That wasn't that bad, however. Part of the reason why I started helping around the house was to start earning positive karma and to build the image of a talented, responsible older brother. As for the other reason, I just felt bad since they treated me no different than Rito, and not repaying them for all the love would feel horrible.
Back to the topic of karma, while I received The Orb to accomplish the mission Matrucksa gave me, I still created a MASSIVE karmic debt. I can't find a number with so many digits even in the memories of my past life...
It may not have been so if I had no free will and had to singlemindedly focus on finishing that mission, but the reality was different.
I retained free will and a big part of my past memories, keeping my personality intact. I also got access to a cheat package any reincarnator could dream of and no time limit to finish the mission.
That is why I have to keep helping people. That's the best way to accumulate good karma.
Although... Unless I save the world a hundred times, I am not sure when I will pay off the debt...
After I finished cooking, I prepared the plates for my father and his assistant and brought it to them since getting them out of the drawing studio seemed impossible. Then, I called Rito while making sure not to wake up our sister and prepared our portions.
Despite that, she woke up in the middle of our meal, accompanied by loud wailing.
Finishing my food with a speed that made Rito go wide-eyed, I went straight to her room to pick her up.
"Look who decided to wake up. Are we hungry?" I said with a smile after getting close to the crib and using [Telekinesis] to make myself float.
In response, she started giggling and stretching her little hands in my direction, so I picked her up. Then, I used the spell [Clean] to clean her diapers since there was no way in hell I would do it the traditional way, and I fed her. After that, together with Rito, we played with her until she got tired and fell asleep again.
"I am home~!" my mother announced after coming back.
Fortunately, she didn't wake up Mikan.
"Mom, please don't shout. Mikan is asleep," I reminded her.
"Ah, my bad," she replied. "I was just happy to be back home. Also, I have a surprise for you," added enthusiastically.
"What is it?" I inquired.
"Ta-dam! I got three tickets to that popular amusement park from my co-worker!" she replied while showing me the tickets.
"Eh?" escaped my mouth after seeing the tickets. "Can I see that?" I asked while pointing at the tickets in her hand.
"Of course," she replied and handed me the tickets.
This name... I recognize it.
"Amagi Brilliant Park..." I muttered.
Why? I remember that name, but it's from a completely different anime than To Love-ru. So, I am in an alternative version? Is it just a mix of these two anime, or are there more? I feel like my life will get a lot more complicated than I expected...
Deciding there was no point in worrying about such stuff, I stopped thinking about it. I will just give it my best as I planned and hope that things work out.
That being said, I still have to check it out.
"When can we go there?" I asked.
"Oh my, I didn't expect you to be so eager to go. Usually, you would say you would rather sleep than go to such a crowded place," my mom commented. "Hmmm, I think I can get a day off in two weeks. We can go at that time," she added.
"Great. Are you hungry? There is still some curry left," I said and accompanied my mother to the kitchen.

It's already been over three months since my reincarnation.
Since I can't stand looking at my lovey-dovey parents and listening to them fucking while I am alone and helpless, I spent nearly all that time inside The Orb.
I have been trying to improve my physique and even had some success in that aspect, but I already realized I lack the necessary knowledge to make the most of it.
The capabilities of the Training Room are being wasted on me right now.
There is also a limit to how much information I can get from Selen. She knows a lot, but she doesn't know everything. Things like the most efficient ways to train, how to use magic, or techniques that I could use Origin for are outside her knowledge. She also can't teach me how to use weapons and how to fight. I had to figure these out alone, which made me increasingly frustrated as time passed.

"God damn it! I trained as hard as possible for the past two months! Why did it barely step into the next rank?!" I shouted, to no one in particular, trying to deal with my frustration.

I tried everything I could, but I lack the knowledge necessary to even start improving!!

"Eh?" I exclaimed in surprise.
Was I seriously so frustrated that The Orb itself recognized my desire to learn? I thought I was supposed to work hard, not get a wish fulfillment journey.
However, I can understand why. I wasn't frustrated only by my inability to improve. As comfortable as it was, there was nothing to do in the Living Quarters. I could cook, but without new recipes or ingredients to try, it was getting boring. I could use the Training Room to generate a place to explore, but without the inspiration, I am restricted to places I know.
To sum it up. I was greatly frustrated and bored out of my mind.
I left the Training Room to check out the new room.
As expected, Selen was waiting for me in front of the entrance.
"What can you tell me about this new room? It's called Library, so it sure as hell has books in it." I asked jokingly.
"While you can find any type of book and knowledge there, it seems you have to earn the right to access them first. For example, to get a high-level sword manual, you must start training with the sword and get manuals of lower grades. While inside the Library, The Orb will help you regenerate your mental energy. Also, the Library isn't part of The Orb. It only granted you the access, so if you look for anything specific you will have to ask the person in charge of it." Selen answered.
"I see. Is it limited to just books?" I inquired.
"Yes. You can also find scrolls, videos, holograms, and any medium that contains knowledge of some sort," she replied.
"That's neat," I said with an excited smile and approached the door.
After I entered the Library, I was momentarily stunned. There, I found hundreds, no thousands, maybe even millions of rows of bookcases, seeming to go up endlessly. All bookcases had massive and sturdy pillars, made of cream-colored marble, and covered in gold ornaments and runes, on both ends. Most pillars were shared by two bookcases, excluding these closest to the entrance and at crosssections. The floor was covered in marble-like material but in contrast to pillars, black-colored one.
Upon closer inspection of my immediate surroundings, I found myself even more dumbfounded.
On my left, I saw a cozy-looking corner, with big, probably more than 50 square meters, red carpet, were a few big, long and sturdy tables, made out of wood similar to oak, with a few ornaments. Besides these tables were standing many sofas, chairs, and armchairs, made out of materials perfectly matching the design of the tables and the carpet.
While someone hearing this kind of description may imagine complete chaos, that wasn't the case.
In reality, it looked like a perfectly ordered place. This, however, wasn't what made me dumbfounded.
It was the thing I saw on my right side. Behind a perfectly normal counter, that could be seen in any library, instead of the usual librarian, was a big, more than 2m tall owl, that looked at me with the same curiosity as a child seeing an exotic animal for the first time.
This owl looked very similar to the Eagle Owl. It had vivid orange eyes and distinctive ear tufts, with the upper parts mottled with darker blackish coloring and tawny. Instead of its natural brownish-gray color, its feathers were mainly midnight blue, with some lighter spots giving an impression of a starry sky.
"Hello, Mr. Owl? I am Arthur. And you are? " I said, far more nervous than when I met Matrucksa. At least he had a humanoid silhouette, even if it kept changing.
The owl turned its head nearly 180 degrees, and focused on my eyes, then said in a masculine voice, "I am Einlion, The Librarian."
"..." I stared at it in silence, not sure what to say. My question was more a joke than anything else. I thought the owl was just a pet of the person in charge of the library.
Maybe 'Don't eat me, please!!' would be best, but... I have heard this name before. I am not sure where.
Deciding there was no point in thinking about it right now, I approached the counter and asked, trying to sound polite, "Can you tell me about the manuals, books, and other knowledge sources I have access to?"
"Of course, hoohoo~. " the owl said, hooting at the end. "As of right now, you have access to all the materials explaining the basics. You also can peruse history books, encyclopedias, and novels. As for other media, like holograms, videos, and recordings, the same applies to them. If they teach you something, for example, cooking, you must start from the basics, unless you already have that knowledge. To put it bluntly, you have access to everything you can comprehend, hoohoo~." Einlion explained.
That verbal tick... It will take some time to get used to it.
"Can you bring me these books? I had to face the reality that my knowledge about how to train my body is too shallow. I will read everything I can." I said, fully prepared to do just that.
"You don't realize how silly the thing you just said is, hoohoohoo~." the owl replied and started laughing.
Why do you have to laugh at my conviction...? Just bruh...
"As you can see, there is an uncountable amount of books, in fact, infinite since they contain all the knowledge from all the records, hoohoo~. Don't you think, that what you asked for is impossible, hoohoo~?"
Einlion inquired.
"...You are right. I didn't think it through." I replied after a moment of silence.
"In the first place, trying to learn too many things at once is a bad idea, hoohoo~. Instead of having one weapon or ability you can trust and depend on, you would have a bunch of half-baked tricks. While becoming a jack-of-all-trades has its own merits, it will never surpass a true master of one discipline," he explained. "Also, even if you are able to master more than one thing, it will take a lot more time, and time for mortals like you is a priceless commodity, hoohoo~." the librarian added.
"Can you give me some advice then?" I asked. "I will take a choice myself, but hearing another opinion never hurts, especially if the person in question is much more knowledgeable," I added.
"Hoohoo~ While training your body is important, training your willpower is even more so. All the energy systems I am aware of, whether we are talking about mana, chakra, ki, or aura, require a strong will, and the purer the energy your try to control is, the stronger your will has to be. If energy is a weapon, then its amount and purity determine its size and weight. Using the same analogy, your willpower is like the hand that wields it. If your grip isn't strong enough, it will slip through your grasp and potentially harm you in the process, hoohoohoo~" Einlion explained.
"I see. If my willpower was stronger, I could train for much longer than I did and wouldn't throw a tantrum after only two months..." I concluded.
"Yes, however, thanks to that tantrum, you came here. I would say it's a pretty good trade offer, hoohoohoo~" the owl said.
"Are there other uses for willpower?" I asked.
"You can pressure someone weaker, leaving them without the will to fight. It also helps to withstand pressure from someone stronger, and more experienced, hoohoo~ If that wasn't enough, it will help you ignore pain, and stay focused," he replied.
"What do you think about learning how to use a sword and martial arts?" I asked.
"Mastering a martial art or weapons like a sword or spear is also good hoohoo~. With enough mastery, you can ignore things like the difference in physical abilities, but you will understand why only once you reach that point hoohoo~. Before that, however, you should focus on mastering your own body. Things like a proper breathing technique, and movements requiring the least effort, will increase your strength and allow you to fight longer." Einlion explained.
"Thank you. I will take your advice to heart." I said with a sincere smile.
His advice can be summed up as "master what you already have", which is very logical.
How should I go about choosing the study material? Since he is in charche of this place, Einlion must know which materials for beginners are the most useful. All of them can't have the same value. I think I will trust him with that one as well.
"I have decided. Please give me the best books explaining how to train my body and my control over it. Please do the same with books about willpower, energy control, swordsmanship, and hand-to-hand combat. I would also request any other media that will help with comprehending these, be it videos or holograms." I requested.

"I have already followed your advice to this point so I will depend on your recommendation in books as well. If there is any other book that you think I should read please bring it as well."
He nodded, and the moment I blinked, books, scrolls, some strange cubes, and other itmes were already on the counter.
He sure is fast. Let's see what we have here.
Among the materials he prepared, some were more eye-catching. These included: "Swordsmanship for Dummies", "How to Meditate", "Combat Strategy for Idiots", "Basics of Energy Control", "Hand-to-hand Combat for Noobs", "God of Cooking Vol.1", "How to breath"
Why do so many of these sound like a bad jokes..?
I looked at him with a deadpan, "These are part of the best..?"
I no longer feel as hyped as before...
"Of course, they are, hoohoohoohoohoo~" he replied and started laughing in his strange owl way.
Like hell it is!!! Are all the powerful beings such teasers!?
Seeing through my inner monologue, Einlion said, "You said to yourself you need to start from the basics. Excluding the titles, these books are among the best I know. For example, "God of Cooking Vol.1" is based on the journey of a being that used level six existences as his ingredients. Of course, such methods would appear only in the later volumes, but you have to start somewhere. I arranged the materials in a few stacks based on what they are about, like swordsmanship and so on hoohoo~. Read them the way I arranged, and you will have no problem understanding them, hoohoo~. I suggest you start reading as fast as possible since it will take at least four months to read everything I prepared hoohoo~." he explained.
"That long?!" I exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes, it should take you around this much time if you stop training, hoohoo~. I have included a few books that you may find interesting, so I wish you a good time while reading hoohoo~."

Deciding not to waste even a second, I directed my footsteps towards the cozy corner dedicated to reading and started my studying session.
I feel excited since its a knowledge that will help me do things as ridiculous as cutting a whole building or lifting a few tons with one hand in the future.
It's time to grind.
