EPIC Side Story: Dragon Ball

Touching down outside the wall surrounding his recently created estate, Vahn waited for Broly to disembark the Flying Nimbus before asking, "What do you think of your new home? Though there are some bad people around, it should be pleasant compared to Vampa."Never one to mince words, Broly simply intoned an affirmative, "Nn..." before following it with a curt, "It's nice..."Patting the young Saiyan's head, Vahn guided Broly through the large entrance gate in the Eastern wall. His actual manor was relatively small, but, taking advantage of the fact that the King of Central City, effectively the King of the entire Earth, had implemented a policy that allowed people to settle and create villages pretty much anywhere, Vahn had claimed most the hinterlands near West City as his territory.Though he had no intention of building an actual city at the present moment, Vahn's experiences had taught him to plan for such eventualities. This time, however, he had no intention of starting an Empire. Instead, he intended to convert the 500-square-kilometer region into a secondary holy land for martial arts. For now, it was basically a walled preserve filled with a few types of flora, fauna, and a single manor.Guiding Broly towards the manor, Vahn explained, "The area inside these walls will be your home from now on. I don't mind if you want to travel abroad in the future, but, no matter where you go, never forget that this is your home."Nodding his head in implied understanding, Broly's eyes were wandering all over the place as he allowed Vahn to gently usher him inside. Everything he was seeing and experiencing right now was new to him, so, while his expression appeared remarkably tranquil, his excitement was approaching levels comparable to his past spars with Ba.Feeling the young Saiyan's excitement, an amused chuckle emanated from Vahn's throat as he spread his senses through the manor. It had been several hours since his departure so he half-expected to find Sarina and Cheelai conversing with one another. Instead, Sarina was lounging about and watching anime in their room while Cheelai was staring out the window of her own with a bored expression on her face.Calling out to the both of them using his Telepathy, Vahn asked them to meet in the dining room so they could share a meal and get to know each other. Immediately after that, he shifted his intention over to Chi-Chi to find the young Princess lying on her stomach in bed, her eyes intently focused on the contents of a book while several others littered her surroundings.Noticing that many of the books were college-level texts, a prickly sensation spread across Vahn's body. It didn't help that the outliers were romance novels, anatomy texts, cookbooks, and self-help books related to improving marriage and being a proper wife. As for the text Chi-Chi currently had her face buried in, it was an introduction to child psychology...("It's no wonder she was so hard on Goku. If she read these types of books for seven years straight, she probably thought she knew everywhere there was to know about being married. It would have been difficult for anyone, much less someone as pure as Goku, to meet her expectations...")Since Chi-Chi had never actually gone to school in the series he was familiar with, Vahn had always been confused regarding her obsession with Gohan's education. Now he understood perfectly. She had basically brainwashed herself into thinking a certain way. Without anyone there to correct her, she would have transitioned to reading books that exclusively corroborated what she believed to be true. By the time she married Goku, even a psychiatrist wouldn't be able to convince her she didn't know what was best for her family and children...Though he now realized there was a very good chance that Chi-Chi would be able to graduate with honors, Vahn wasn't too concerned. He had become accustomed to being the penultimate goal of young girls with powerful fates, so, as the person who had set the objectives for her to complete, he couldn't exactly complain about Chi-Chi taking his words seriously. Instead, he decided to focus on the far more pressing matter at hand, Chi-Chi's propensity for delusions.As even the excessively violent adult version Chi-Chi was able to ride the Flying Nimbus, it couldn't be denied that she was still pure of heart. She had just convinced herself so thoroughly that even lie detectors and magic intended to expose a person's true nature wouldn't be able to find fault in her behavior. This was the same logic that allowed kind and pure-hearted people like Goku to massacre the entire Red Ribbon Army without losing the ability to ride the Nimbus. He was so convinced that he was doing the right thing that even the Laws regarded his actions as enacting justice rather than simply murdering people.Perspective and intent were key.Deciding to nip the problem in the bud, Vahn sent a telepathic message to Chi-Chi stating that she could join them for dinner if she received her father's permission. This startled the young Princess quite a bit, but, upon realizing who was speaking to her, she bolted from her room with such speed and intensity that she ended up leaving a dent in the reinforced metal door at the entrance...Understanding that Chi-Chi wasn't going to take no for an answer, Vahn rightly assumed she would be joining them for dinner. What he didn't anticipate was that she wouldn't simply be asking if she could join them for a single meal. Instead, she informed the Ox-King that the time for her departure had come. Then, after a tearful embrace, largely on the part of the Ox-King, she gathered up all the luggage she had prepared before taking a seat atop one of her suitcases and waiting patiently for him to come and retrieve her.........With Bulma telling him she was too busy to attend a social gathering, Vahn introduced Broly and Ba to Sarina and Cheelai before excusing himself to go pick up Chi-Chi. Both she and the Ox-King were waiting for him, so, while it would have been easiest to simply teleport her over, he figured it would be more 'appropriate' to retrieve her directly.Upon arriving outside the castle, Vahn was immediately greeted with a bear hug from the Ox-King, who, prior to letting him go, silently threatened that he would never forgive him if he made Chi-Chi sad. Then, as if he hadn't been releasing bloodlust moments prior, a massive grin developed across his face as he gave Vahn a few weighty slaps before laughing heartily as he retreated to his castle in an effort to disguise the fact he was on the verge of tears...Seemingly oblivious to her father's melancholy, Chi-Chi was even bubblier than the last time Vahn had seen her. She had basically spent the last three and a half days eating, sleeping, and dreaming about the life they would have together. The latter was the motivation that had allowed her to stay focused during her sixteen-hour study sessions. In her mind, she had already convinced herself that she and Vahn were husband and wife. She just needed to convince him and the people around him that she was ready to fulfill her duties.........After helping the overly excited Princess get set up her room, Vahn convinced Chi-Chi to change into something more suitable for a dinner party before showing her the way to the dining room. Along the way, she kept glaring at his hand as if it were her mortal enemy, but, likely as a result of the 'requirements' he had set for her, she never attempted to reach for it. Instead, she followed a short distance behind and to the left of him, a behavior she had picked up from one of the books she read..."We're here..."Startling when she heard Vahn's words, Chi-Chi ceased 'glaring' at his hand, her ears immediately picking up the sounds of several people talking. The tensions in her body immediately reached a peak, but, without hesitating in the slightest, she followed Vahn into the dining room with a fierce and determined look on her face.As everyone had heard Vahn's voice, Sarina, Cheelai, and Broly all shifted their attention toward the entrance as Ba, currently in his cat form, continued lying on his side with a disinterested look on his perpetually grumpy face.Taking advantage of the fact Chi-Chi had removed her helmet, Vahn plopped his hand down atop her head, shattering the growing tensions as he said, "Everyone, I'd like you to meet Chi-Chi. She's going to be staying here starting today."Blushing fiercely in response to the unexpected contact, Chi-Chi promptly cupped her cheeks as an adorable yet silly smile developed across her face. This immediately caught the attention of Cheelai, who, completely lacking a filter, adopted a teasing smile as she mused, "Oh, what's this~? Someone appears to have a bit of a crush..."Though she still appeared somewhat bashful, Chi-Chi's expression became markedly more serious as she stated, "I don't have a crush. Once I graduate, Vahn and I will be married. Now, tell me, who are you? I've never seen a woman with green skin before."Rather than taking offense to Chi-Chi's words, the expression on Cheelai's face became even more amused as she answered, "The name's Cheelai. I'm an Orionite from Frieza Planet 297. Let's try and get along, okay?""Orionite? Frieza...?"As most Earthlings were unaware of the existence of aliens in the present timeline, Chi-Chi couldn't help feeling confused by Cheelai's words. At the same time, a markedly similar expression appeared on the face of the latter as she asked, "You've never heard of Frieza...?"Interjecting before the conversation could get sidelined too far, Vahn gently urged Chi-Chi towards the table as he explained, "Earth is an Underdeveloped Planet located on the edge of the Northern Quadrant. A few hundred years ago, the people of this world were nearly wiped out by a tyrannical monster calling himself King Picollo. As a result, most Earthlings aren't even aware of the existence of the Galactic Patrol, much less the Frieza Force."Having grown up under the tyranny of Frieza her entire life, it had never even occurred to Cheelai that places beyond his reach existed. She knew there were planets he had yet to conquer, but, as a matter of course, most of those planets were actively fighting the Frieza Force. After all, Frieza and his father, King Cold, had already conquered 70% of the habitable Universe. The notion that there were people unaware of their existence bordered on nonsense...What Cheelai, and, for the most part, even Frieza didn't know was that the Eastern Supreme Kai had cast a spell that altered the impression people had of Earth. Unless there was something compelling them to visit, most people would simply ignore it or regard it as a backwater planet with nothing of value. This was, somewhat ironically, the reason Bardock and Gine had chosen the Earth when they were searching for worlds to send their son. It was perceived as such a backwater planet that it had literally been assigned the lowest priority for conquest within the Frieza Force's registry of planets...Were it not for the arrival of the Nameless Namekian three hundred years prior, Earth would have gone unnoticed until the resurrection of Majin Buu. There was even a chance that the manifestation of evil would never awaken, as, without a tremendous supply of energy over a short period of time, it was nearly impossible to remove Buu's seal. The energy it absorbed would gradually leak out, so, even if Babidi harvested the energy of every human on the planet, it wouldn't be enough.Simply put, the arrival of the Nameless Namekian was the catalyst for nearly every major event in the Dragon Ball timeline. Goku may have been the main character, but, were it not for the creation of the Dragon Balls and the destruction wrought by King Piccolo, he likely would have remained in the mountains until Raditz appeared to claim him. After that, even if Raditz did lay waste to much of the planet, it would actually benefit the Universe in the long run as that would make the awakening of Majin Buu even more difficult.Fortunately for Kami, his decision may have brought innumerable troubles to the Earth, but, were it not for the choices he made in his youth, the entire Universe would have been destroyed. After all, by the time of Dragon Ball Super, there were only 28 advanced civilizations remaining in the whole of Universe 7. This was the main reason Beerus slept so much. Majin Buu and Moro had wiped out nearly all life in the Universe on two separate occasions, so, even if he wanted to destroy, he risked lowering the level of his Universe even further. If that happened, an event similar to what was seen in Dragon Ball Super would occur. After recovering from her shock over the revelation there were places where the Frieza influence hadn't reached, Cheelai asked the question at the forefront of her mind, specifically, "Wait, if the people of Earth don't know about Frieza, how do you? In fact, what, exactly, are you? I've heard of people with the ability to teleport but I've never heard of anyone with the power to teleport others from other planets. Like, how did you even know I was on Frieza Planet 297?"As he had no reason to keep it a secret, Vahn waved his hand to produce snacks and beverages for everyone before explaining everything he had told Bulma. This included the fact he was a God, the reason for his visit to Earth, and a basic outline of his powers.Unsurprisingly, Cheelai wasn't too enthusiastic about the aforementioned revelations. Every culture had Gods they worshipped, but, more often than not, they were just scams made up by people with power to take advantage of those without. The proliferation of the Frieza Forces was the only proof most people needed to know there were such things as Gods. The tyrant had forced the leaders of innumerable religions to admit the truth before publically executing countless more just to illustrate the futility of placing your belief in beings that either didn't exist or were too powerless to act.The real Gods were those with the power to dictate, control, and harvest the lives of others as their leisure...A stark contrast to Cheelai's slightly hostile skepticism, Chi-Chi had reverted back to her fangirl mode. Her obsidian eyes glistened with the light of countless stars, and, if she hadn't made up her mind before, she had now. Rather, now that she knew that Vahn was a God, she 'understood' why he had decided to test her. If she couldn't even prove herself against other humans, how could she, a mere Princess from a tiny kingdom, hope to become the wife of a God...?While Chi-Chi was cementing various thoughts within her mind, the look on her face appearing as though she was gazing at something impossibly distant, Cheelai had other questions she wanted answers to. Vahn hadn't explained why he had chosen her to be Broly's caretaker, so, in a sardonic, borderline vitriolic tone, she asked, "What does a supposed God need someone like me for? There's not anything special about me. Heck, even among the members of my own batch, I scored below average in pretty everything except piloting and marksmanship..."Though her tone became somewhat melancholic towards the end, Cheelai managed to retain a bit of sharpness in her voice as she glared into Vahn's eyes. In response, the latter just smiled, his tone soft and resonating as he stated, "Everyone is special. Some people just need a bit of help finding out what makes them so. As for why I chose you...it's because you possess a quality that the Frieza Force doesn't test for..."Furrowing her brows, Cheelai crossed her arms as a means to both comfort herself and appear confrontational as she asked, "Oh? And what, oh mighty God, might that be...?"Cheating quite a bit by relying on Loi-chan and his ability to view any point in space and time, Vahn left Cheelai absolutely speechless as he created a three-dimensional projection that showed a much younger version of herself, beaten and bloodied, attempting to protect the other children from her batch of podlings. When she found out they were being shipped off to the frontlines, she stood up against their handlers, and, as a result, received numerous beatings for her attempts to both break free and let others escape."You have a strong will and a caring heart. It takes tremendous courage to stand against the people who will harm you. It takes exponentially more to stand against the people who harm others..."Erasing the projection with a casual wave of his hand, Vahn took advantage of Cheelai's silence to continue, adding, "When I told you about how Broly was being mistreated, I could see the pain and anger reflected in your eyes. Now, even though you've only known each other a short while, I would be willing to bet that you would do everything you can to make sure he never has to suffer like that again..."Demonstrating an ability he had only rarely made use of after his departure from the Nasuverse, Vahn made the Strings of Fate between Cheelai and Broly visible for all to see. He didn't include all of them, but, among the ones he had chosen, there was a luminous black string that radiated a pale green light connecting Broly's and Cheelai's hearts. This was a string representing a powerful desire to protect, and, while Cheelai may be unwilling to admit it, Broly's silence and the gentle expression on his face had spoken louder than any words he might have said..."..."Hearing Vahn dutifully reveal the meaning behind each string, the hateful expression on Cheelai's face eased into an introspective glower before finally settling on a conflicted pout. She refused to believe that Vahn was a God, but, seeing him demonstrate a plethora of abilities she couldn't even imagine prior to seeing with her own eyes, she couldn't exactly refute him. Instead, she asked one of the most prominent questions that remained in her mind, "Why don't you stop Frieza...?"Ceasing his explanation on the Strings of Fate, Vahn dismissed them with a wave before surprising Cheelai by asking, "Why don't you...?"Furrowing her brows, Cheelai's voice cracked slightly as she retorted, "If I had the power to stop Frieza, do you think I would be sitting here...!?"Shaking his head, Vahn's expression turned visibly melancholic as he answered, "No...if you had the power to stop Frieza, you would probably be his replacement..."Though Cheelai's anger had begun to fade during Vahn's explanation, it returned with a vengeance when she heard him compare her to a monster like Frieza. She immediately jumped to her feet, but, despite her efforts to flip the table, it remained firmly planted on the ground due to Vahn promptly placing his hand on its surface."Calm down."With the pupils of her eyes contracting, Cheelai wanted to shout at the top of her lungs, but, as if her indignation had been imaginary, an indescribable sense of incongruency impacted her mind as she found herself calming down in an instant. For a brief moment, she couldn't even remember why she was angry in the first place...Retracting the power of Authority from his voice, Vahn continued where he left off, explaining, "The reason I do not deal with Frieza is because several others have already been set on that path. If the Gods dealt with every problem that appeared, mortals would become increasingly dependent on us until we broke or they rebelled. To that end, the Gods choose champions and heroes to protect the people in their stead. Broly is one such example...his power and potential are so extreme that, with just a few years of training, there is nothing Frieza could do to stop him..."Though she wanted to ask what he had done to make her calm, Vahn's mention of Broly caused Cheelai's face to morph into an expression of consternation as she muttered, "I get it...even if I'm a good person, possessing too much power would eventually corrupt me. Is that what you're trying to say...?"Without waiting for Vahn to respond, Cheelai shifted her attention to Broly, a hint of helplessness in her eyes as she muttered, "It isn't right...like, I understand what you're trying to say, but it isn't right to force someone like Broly to fight a monster like Frieza..."Speaking before Cheelai could continue on her tangent, Vahn hastily stated, "I mentioned Broly as an example. He isn't going to be the one to slay Frieza. I just wanted you to better understand the point I was trying to make. As for what that point was...even I'm not entirely sure. I just know that it isn't my destiny to defeat Frieza. If you'd like, however, it could be yours."Blinking in surprise, Cheelai gave Vahn an 'are you an idiot?' kind of look before pointing out, "You just said I would become a tyrant if I was strong enough to defeat Frieza..."Shaking his head, Vahn clarified, "No, I asked why you didn't stop Frieza and implied that you would be a tyrant if you possessed the power to do so. The missing piece of the puzzle is the method you use to obtain the power to defeat Frieza. If you were simply born with it, much like Frieza, it is pretty much guaranteed that you would become a tyrant. Inversely, if you start from the bottom and work your way up with the intention of defeating him for the sake of others, the odds of you becoming a tyrant are relatively slim."Though she felt that Vahn had been unnecessarily vague, Cheelai returned to her seat with a plop before crossing her arms and asking, "You seriously expect me to believe that someone like me, a literal mass-produced podling, can defeat the Emperor of the Universe? I'm not sure how Gods are produced but you must have hit your head on the way out..."Shrugging his shoulders, Vahn maintained a relaxed smile as he retorted, "That, my green-skinned friend, is the true reason you aren't able to defeat Frieza. You aren't even willing to try..."Furrowing her brows, Cheelai was about to retort when Broly, silencing the entire table, said, "I will defeat Frieza..." in a soft yet resolute tone.Taken aback by the young Saiyan's words, Cheelai found herself unable to find her own. As a result, Broly was able to continue, saying, "I don't know who this Frieza person is...but I can tell they're bad. If I can grow strong enough to defeat him...people won't have to suffer anymore...everyone can go back to being happy..."Feeling as though the tiny Saiyan was gripping her heart, a layer of moisture spread across Cheelai's eyes. Broly currently resembled a little kid so it was impossible to imagine him fighting, much less defeating a monster like Frieza. She also couldn't imagine the kind of training someone would have to go through in order to get that strong. All she knew for certain was that it wouldn't be easy...you didn't obtain the power to defeat a tyrant without experiencing unimaginable suffering...Speaking before Cheelai could even think to protest, Vahn stated, "That is a matter for the far, far future. For now, the most important thing the two of you can be doing is enjoying your lives to the fullest. You have both endured an extremely traumatic experience. Possessing a balanced mental state is one of the most important aspects to increasing your strength, so, if you're serious about defeating Frieza, focus on becoming happy first. Once you possess something worth fighting for, your power will grow by leaps and bounds..."Taking advantage of the fact that Broly was seated next to him, Vahn punctuated his words by gently ruffling the young Saiyan's head. He wouldn't be able to do this for very long, so, before Broly shot up like a bamboo shoot near the end of Spring, Vahn intended to caress his head as much as possible. Intimacy was one of the reasons, but, more important than that, he was slowly unlocking the youth's unfathomable potential. This was an ability he had possessed even as far back as Danmachi, so, now that he existed in a world where Elder Namekians could literally draw out the potential contained within a person's 'soul', Vahn figured he might as well do the same.........(A/N: Alternate Titles: 'Chi-Chi is at 120% o_o...','Vahn speakin' the tru-true...','"There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man..."')

After giving Broly and Ba enough food to keep them occupied for a few minutes, Vahn entered the cave that served as Paragus's home. It was technically Broly's home as well, but, due to the insectoid creatures that would generally hunt in the night, the young Saiyan often slept outside, guarding the premises while Paragus slept...Standing at 181cm tall and possessing a muscular figure that belied his advanced age, Paragus was currently in the process of trying to repair the distress beacon he had ripped from his crashed ship. Unfortunately, he had very little technical experience, so, while he was able to fashion Broly's collar and jury-rig a water purification system, he lacked the skills necessary to fully repair the beacon.Fortunately, Paragus was nothing if not persistent. He may lack the technical skills to repair the beacon but that wasn't going to stop him from trying. He had even managed to get it to transmit a signal strong enough to penetrate the atmosphere a few months prior, so, even if he had to fashion a circuit board from animal parts, he was determined to get off Planet Vampa and get his revenge...Seeing the mixture of black, purple, green, and red comprising Paragus's aura, Vahn exhaled a sigh that caused the ever-alert Saiyan's body to tense along with the surrounding atmosphere. Then, in spite of the fact he had been awaiting rescue for nearly two decades, Paragus immediately reached for his Ray Gun before dodging to the side and unleashing a projectile strong enough to penetrate the hull of a spaceship.Grabbing the projectile with his bare hand, Vahn crushed it into particles of light as he muttered a moderately incredulous, "Seriously...?"Though his eyes widened when he saw Vahn shatter a beam of energy like a glass rod, Paragus kept his ray gun trained on Vahn's head as he asked, "Who are you..?" before immediately following it by asking, "Did King Vegeta send you..?" in a grim tone.Seeing Paragus's aura turn a sickly shade of red and black, Vahn decided against giving the man an explanation. He was originally going to discuss Broly's adoption and see what he had to say on the matter before dealing with him. Now, realizing such an explanation would be completely wasted on the single-minded avenger, he reappeared in front of the middle-aged Saiyan before Paragus could even process he had moved.As he still had a policy against tweaking a person's memories directly, Vahn greeted the surprised Paragus with a strike to both sides of the head, stating, "Boushinha Shougeki...!" in a solemn tone that reverberated off the cave walls. (A/N: Boushinha Shougeki = Amnesia Fist)With his brain and eyes vibrating in accordance with a specific frequency, Paragus's consciousness faded the moment Vahn's blow landed. All the neural circuitry in his mind 'fired' at nearly the exact same time, and, though no permanent damage was done, the shock had effectively short-circuited his hippocampus. He would quickly recover basic skills such as the ability to speak, read, and write, but, with Vahn's attack also fracturing his Ego, everything that defined who Paragus was as a person had been erased.Though there was a chance that Broly might resent him in the future, Vahn didn't think the young Saiyan had it in him to resent anyone, much less the person who had saved him and his friend. So long as his father was alive and well, he would remain content. After all, even after sixteen years, he had never actually gotten to know the man.........After explaining the situation to a surprisingly understanding Broly, Vahn sealed the majority of Paragus's power before dropping him off at a luxurious retirement home that specialized in caring for people with dementia and other forms of memory loss. He would eventually recover, and, due to a bit of tweaking on Vahn's part, there was a fair chance he would even find love. Either way, he would have very little to do with Broly in the future, as, unless the young Saiyan approached him of his own volition, Paragus would never even know he existed.With that taken care of, Vahn pulled a bit of a prank on the Flying Nimbus by imitating Goku's voice and aura before calling out to it. He had never seen a cloud look so confused before, but, instead of brooding or zipping off like a tsundere, it permitted him to run his hands through its billowy surface before allowing Broly to attempt riding on its back.Unsurprisingly, Broly had absolutely no problem sitting atop the Flying Nimbus. This gave the cloud mixed feelings, but, with Goku currently receiving his first lessons from Master Roshi, it wasn't like it had anything better to do. Thus, when Vahn asked if it wanted to give Broly a tour and race back to West City, it readily agreed. As for Broly and Bay, they just enjoyed the view and the feeling of wind through their hair and fur.........Though she had initially waited for Vahn's return in the kitchen, Cheelai eventually got bored after more than an hour of just sitting around. Unfortunately, there wasn't really anything else for her to do, so, after briefly considering her options, she decided to get back at Vahn for his indifference to her sex appeal. More specifically, she decided to perform her daily ritual by sauntering over to what she assumed to be the master bedroom.With nothing but her own thoughts to keep her company for the better part of three, nearly four days, Cheelai's mind had wandered all over the place. She had also assumed that she was going to be forced to perform all kinds of sex acts, so, despite being given her own room, she had spent the previous two nights sleeping in the master bedroom. It had basically become her private sanctuary, so, after confirming that the bed actually cleaned and maintained itself, Cheelai had been having a bit of 'fun' at the mattress's expense.Intent on doing the same thing today, Cheelai was more than a little surprised when she reached the door preceding the master bedroom and found it locked. This caused a pout to form on her face, but, rather than fret over it, she just shrugged her shoulders before mumbling, "Well, there goes that plan..." before heading towards the bath as her next destination.In hindsight, Cheelai realized it probably wouldn't have been the best idea to play with herself when she was currently waiting for Vahn to return with a young boy in tow. If people couldn't see her, it didn't matter where she got off. In fact, it might even be exciting to get 'caught' only for the person who discovered her to find an empty room...As this, and many other thoughts were having a field day within Cheelai's mind, the green-skinned woman was obvious to the fact that Sarina had emerged from the master bedroom shortly after her departure.Seeing Cheelai's 'mature' appearance, Sarina was honestly surprised. She had always assumed that Broly was much older than the green-skinned woman. Instead, Cheelai appeared to be in her mid to late twenties while Broly, as far as she knew, was around the same size as Goku.In reality, Cheelai was a fair bit younger than Sarina and Vahn believed. It was just that her species, similar to Saiyans, spent the first few years of their lives in gestation tanks before being moved to incubators. By the time they emerged, typically around the age of three, their bodies had matured to resemble 8-10-year-olds. They would then be given a crash-course education before being sent off to the frontlines or selected for a special education program intended to rear gifted children for positions aboard spaceships.Chronologically, Cheelai was just under fourteen years old. Her people just had drastically different standards than the people of Earth. As for how she ended up in the orphanage, that was a very long story. One she would rather not recollect, much less discuss with others...Unaware that she was being followed, Cheelai poked her head into a few rooms before reaching a rather sizeable Library. Most of the books within were written in languages she couldn't even begin to understand. She also wasn't particularly fond of reading, so, unless she literally had nothing else to do, she wouldn't waste her time reading someone else's story. She had her own life to live, and, more importantly, an itch that needed scratching...Seeing the ornate and expensive-looking wooden desk on the opposite end of the Library, a smile developed across Cheelai's face as she wet her lips with her tongue. Shortly thereafter, at least from the perspective of Sarina, she completely disappeared from view."What the heck...?"As Vahn had failed to make her aware of the fact he had gifted Cheelai with the means to become invisible, Sarina was profoundly confused by the green-skinned woman's sudden appearance. The simplest explanation was that Vahn had simply teleported Cheelai over to him. Sarina just couldn't imagine him doing such a thing if he knew she was nearby.Peeking into the Library, Sarina was confused yet unsurprised to find it completely empty. Just as she turned to leave, however, she heard the sound of something dropping behind her. The hairs on the back of her neck immediately stood on end, so, without hesitation, she pulled the Scouter Vahn had gifted her from her personalized storage ring...Stepping into the Library this time, Sarina's eyes should have darted to the thickly bound book in the middle of the floor. At least, that was the intention of the woman who had thrown it. Cheelai had noticed Sarina's appearance shortly after the latter poked her head in, so, unable to resist the temptation, she made a bit of noise to both spook and draw the woman's attention.Unfortunately for Cheelai, the inordinately advanced Scouter, capable of grasping even Vahn's base power, possessed a number of different filters. This included a function that allowed the user to see things like body heat, radiation, and numerous frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum. While none of these directly revealed Cheelai's features, they provided more than enough information to ascertain her location and the position she was in...Seeing a roughly Cheelai-shaped heat signature sitting atop the desk with her legs spread, Sarina's expression morphed into a deadpan. At the exact same moment, Cheelai's body became as rigid as a statue, her eyes briefly darting to the ring finger of her left hand before subsequently focusing on the Scouter on Sarina's head.Having used Scouters quite a number of times in the past, Cheelai convinced herself that Sarina was only able to detect her approximate location and power level. This tempted her to continue, but, as there was a fair chance that Sarina was someone important to her employer, she promptly shut her legs before sitting upright and asking, "Can I help you...?" in a cool tone that contradicted the rapid beating of her heart.Unsure of how to respond, Sarina's brows creased for a moment before she asked, "What are you doing here?"Thinking that Sarina hadn't been informed of her presence or who she was, Cheelai began to calm down, her confidence gradually restoring as she answered, "My name is Cheelai. Vahn hired me to take care of some Saiyan brat named Broly. He also gave me free reign to make use of the manor's facilities, so, unless you have something important to discuss, I believe you have your own duties to attend..."Opening her mouth, Sarina wanted to say something to explain who she was, but, believing Cheelai was currently naked, she decided against it. Instead, she elected to pretend she hadn't just intruded on the green-skinned woman's obvious attempts to masterbate in public...Not sure what else to say, Sarina's expression formed into an awkward smile as she said, "Uh...have fun...?" before promptly departing the Library.
