Fenrir's Journey : I Shall Devour The Heavens!

After leaving the cave she had made for herself, Fenrir quickly cut through the sky without any of the pressure that seemed to be present affecting her. The shroud of devouring energy around her body was consuming everything around her as she passed through it, allowing Fenrir to seemingly have an infinite amount of stamina while also helping to keep her hunger satiated. This was very helpful, as it meant she wouldn't actually have to eat everything with her teeth which might cause people to have suspicions about her identity.Though it wouldn't matter when she reached the peak, Fenrir knew that she was probably far from the top and needed to keep her identity as a Vanargandr a secret. It was fortunate, though she would never thank it, that the strange entity had given her a passive ability to obscure her identity. If any strong individual were able to peek into her body, a thought that made Fenrir feel slightly nauseous, they would be able to discern that she had a 'monster core' near her heart. The moment this was discovered, a powerful Cultivator may end up hunting her down on some bogus pretense of 'righteousness', even though their only reason was to try and steal her core for themselves...While thinking on the hypocrisy and pretentious nature of people in this world, Fenrir came to land at the outside of the Heavenly Moon Sect once again. The moment she touched down, the guards at the gate entered into a panic as some of their members ran into the interior, likely to inform Wen Xiulan that she had arrived. At the same time, a female disciple came forward with a pale expression and bowed subserviently as she said, "Queen Fenrir, w-welcome to the Heavenly Moon Sect. Please, allow this insignificant one to inquire as to the reason behind your visit today."This was another thing that bothered Fenrir, the fact that people were so quick to lower their heads whenever they encountered someone strong. Because of the nature and temperament of those that typically rose to the top, everyone beneath them either lowered their heads or conspired in the darkness to try and backstab them in the future. She could still remember how people would act around her Master, someone who was stronger than almost everyone in the entire world. They would never lower their heads to him but, recognizing the kind and gentle person he was, people would instead smile and greet him happily...a stark contrast to this broken and despotic world...Once she became one of the strongest in the world, Fenrir was determined to change this basic fact of the world. Even if this was a place where the strong ruled over the weak, Fenrir would change it so that the weak revered the strong, not because they were afraid, but because those with power were worthy of their respect. Anyone that wanted to reach the peak of the world would have to do so through honest means or, the moment she learned about their treachery, Fenrir would cripple them herself. Eventually, even if it took many years, people would get the message she was trying to convey...(Fenrir's Commentary: 'Eventually, they will learn...')

This time, instead of having her wait outside the gates, the disciples of the Heavenly Moon Sect escorted Fenrir into the interior. She didn't particularly care about their treatment of her but, as it was much better than having disgusting individuals eye her up, Fenrir preferred this type of behavior. Even in her previous world, it had always been her 'duty' to scare and intimidate people to prevent them from doing foolish things. Now, if it would stop them from acting like fools, Fenrir didn't care if the entire world came to fear her...The interior of the Heavenly Moon Sect was vastly different than the area outside the walls as, instead of an icy mountain, it appeared as if the Sect itself had been built on a verdant and fertile plain. The mountain continued to wind up, snaking a path that was dotted by numerous manors with vast and open courtyards. Though there were only a few thousand people residing here, Fenrir felt like the inside of the walls took up more space than the City below, a place which housed tens of millions of people. Everything was needlessly extravagant, even though things were designed to look simple and aesthetically pleasing to the eye...Long before she reached what should have been the heart of the Heavenly Moon Sect, a massive three-tiered Palace near the peak of the mountain, Wen Xiulan, the Palace Master, had darted forward like an icy bolt of electricity, coming to a stop in front of the group escorting Fenrir inwards. She was slightly pale and it didn't seem like she was too excited for the company as she glared at the disciples before turning to Fenrir and saying, "You must leave this place at once. I understand you are very powerful but the Sect cannot simply remain idle after you killed the previous Sect Master. The Elders will have to fight against you to uphold the honor of the Sect and, if you defeat them, it will expose the Heavenly Moon Sect to other forces on the Continent. Please, though there are some that have strayed from the noble path, many disciples of the Heavenly Moon Sect do not deserve the injustice of being slaughtered because of the actions of a single man...!"Though she was listening to Wen Xiulan, Fenrir had already turned her eyes towards the very peak of the mountain. There was a very old man with white hair, a long white beard, and bushy eyebrows that veiled his eyes. He was far stronger than anyone that she had met in this world thus far and Fenrir was able to sense a powerful energy that had condensed within his body. She had always been sensitive to this energy but, after the evolution of her Soul, Fenrir's perception of all the energy around her had increased greatly. There was even an illusory golden sphere that she could discern within his aura, possessing three strange dragon-like markings coiling around it...Seeing that she was ignored, Wen Xiulan's face furrowed into sadness and conflict since she knew the young girl before her wasn't the one in the wrong. Turning her head, she saw what Fenrir was looking at and felt like the cold energy in her body paled in comparison to the shudder that ran through her body. She was very aware of this elderly man who, from her perspective, had an indiscernible presence while also appearing larger than the mountain he stood upon.When the man stood up, Wen Xiulan didn't even know exactly when he had moved before the elderly man was already standing right next to her, blue eyes blazing as he looked towards Fenrir and said, "I was wondering what calamity that Tian Gengxin brou-" As she was prone to do, Fenrir gave the man a harsh look and said, "I have come here for one reason, and it is to obtain information before I move on. If you intend to impede me, I will tear that core out of your stomach and let you experience your remaining days as the mortals so many of you Cultivators look down on..."(Fenrir's Commentary: 'I do not care for these games, not one bit...')(A/N: I know people have been wanting more FJ, but remember that this is just a side-story that I write when I'm either bored or want to vent after writing something annoying on EPIC. If there is enough interest in the novel, I don't mind doing a daily release but, for the time being, most of the chapters would usually come on the weekend when I have more free time to write. I don't really want to get everyone's hopes up that have been enjoying the novel, so I may remove it if people are bothered by the lack of updates xD...still, if it is just one chapter, that is something I can easily guarantee. Since she lacked the charisma to draw people to her side naturally, nor could she see the auras of people to discern if they were 'good', Fenrir knew she would have to use force to get her point across. Just as Eva had taught her in the past, Fenrir decided she would become strong enough that any decision she made would compel others to follow her orders. Even if they only did so out of fear, it would still be better than the current state of the world. Presently, there were too many hypocritical and arrogant people, especially the various girly men who seemed to live at the expense of others. Their 'pride' was one of the greatest farces Fenrir had ever seen, as the truth of the matter was that the men were just vain cowards who tried to elevate their own status by putting other people down...Though she knew that not everyone would be like that, or else this world would have destroyed itself, Fenrir could tell it was the 'norm' just based on how everyone acted. She didn't know how her strength stacked up against the pinnacle powers in the world, but a large Sect that had thousands of members was lead by people that were weaker than she was. As they had been in existence for more than a thousand years, it meant that they were either adequately strong or that 'stronger' people simply didn't care to interfere with them. However, considering how that woman, Wen Xiulan, acted, Fenrir believed she had to be decently powerful to avoid having her own body tainted by the arrogant girly men of this world...Thinking of Wen Xiulan, Fenrir decided she would return to the Heaven Moon Sect to obtain information. Though she had plenty of places where she could venture to increase her strength, Fenrir wanted to learn about other large Sects and how the balance of power on the continent was truly divided. If she learned that any particular Sect was full of cruel and evil people, that would become Fenrir's current 'goal'. She would work to increase her strength until she was able to kill or cripple the cruel and vicious people that had risen to the top of the world by using other people as a stepping stone.It would take a long time, by Fenrir was confident that people would begin to change how they acted if she went around killing and crippling anyone that lived at the expense of others. If she met any kind or capable people along the way, Fenrir would put them in positions of power and, even if she had to do so by fear, Fenrir would change this world through action. Eventually, her Master would either reach this world to save her or she would reach a point where she was able to return to his side. In order to do that, Fenrir needed to greatly increase her strength until there was nothing in this world...no, nothing ANY world that could stand against her!Fortunately, though she would never forget Eva's advice that 'there was always something stronger', Fenrir had her devouring energy to rely on. Even if there were things that could resist it, that only meant her control and understanding of the energy wasn't strong enough. Since Devouring Laws, according to her Master and Eva, were some of the most powerful in existence, Fenrir knew she had a major advantage. Just the fact that she could turn anything into her own energy gave her advantages that other people could only dream of obtaining...(Fenrir's Commentary: 'Even if I do not devour everything, I can still devour all of the riches and resources that the bad people keep for themselves...')

Chapter 61: Return to the Heavenly Moon Sect
