Though he was tempted to ask why she didn't use the apartment he had lent her, Ohta ultimately just shook his head. Though she initially expressed relief when she realized Ohta wasn't angry with her, Karin's frown returned with a vengeance when she heard he was moving, asking, "Where are you moving? Is it the Soul Society...?"

Furthermore, until new members were appointed, Yamamoto became the highest authority in the Soul Society, a position he would continue to hold until the threat of Aizen had been eliminated.
Taking advantage of the Central 46's absence, Yoruichi made an appeal to Yamamoto, presenting all the evidence and information they had gathered in regards to the incident that had seen her, Kisuke, and several important members of the Gotei sent into exile a hundred years prior. She had proof that Aizen had been manipulating the Central 46 even further back, but it wasn't enough to get Yamamoto to permit their immediate return. He was, however, willing to regard them as reserve forces. If the situation became especially dire, he would permit their return on the condition they actively take part in any major battles that might occur.
The one person who was exempt from Yamamoto's delayed judgment was Yoruichi. She was immediately allowed to return, not just because she was the former head of the Shihouin Clan, but because her 'crime' was preventing the execution of decorated Captains and Lieutenants indicted for crimes perpetrated by Aizen. Had she not 'acted in her discretion as the Commander of the Onmitsukidō,' it wasn't even a slight exaggeration to say that Aizen would have continued ruling over the Soul Society from the shadows until it was too late.
